The Municipal Water
District of Orange County (MWDOC) is an advocate on regional, state and federal legislative
issues that affect the delivery, management and quality
of Orange County’s drinking water resources. In
collaboration with members of the State Legislature
and United States Congress, governmental agencies,
and the city and retail water district client agencies
it serves, MWDOC works to monitor legislation and
help shape public policy to ensure that Orange County’s
interests are represented.
MWDOC also serves as
an information resource on water-related legislation
for its client agencies, local elected officials,
and business and community leaders in Orange County.
For its client agencies, MWDOC convenes legislative
coordination meetings to provide updated information
on key water legislation, discuss opportunities for
agency coordination on messages and positions, and
reaffirm its advocacy efforts are meeting the needs
of those it serves. For elected officials and other
Orange County leaders, MWDOC hosts water policy forums
featuring speakers who brief the audience on regional, state and federal water issues that affect us all.
